Eustis Tigers' history
The Eustis Tigers produced a star at the girls’ state track meets in the late 1980s. Tina Houser (1988) was a six-time state champ in the 200, 400, and 800, in Class D, and anchored two relay winners, as well. Houser scooped up three other individual medals during his career to make her total eleven. She led the Tigers to three-straight top-three finishes, including lifting runner-up trophies in 1987 and 1988. Houser had a record-setting college career at Doane
.
Tirsten Brockmeier (1990) keyed another second-place track finish in 1990 with a state title in the 800, a medal in the 400, and anchor efforts on two state championship relays.
Ronald Ritchey (1947) was the Tigers’ brightest star in the boys’ track. He swept the Class D 100-yard dash as a junior and a senior, and claimed another title in the 220 in 1947. He also medaled in the 200 and long jump in 1946, as Eustis finished in the top ten of the team race both years.
